As background, on Sunday, February 6, 2005, a Los Angeles police officer shot 10 bullets into the back of 13 year old, African American, Devin Brown in South Los Angeles, CA, killing him instantly. Brown was an 8th grader at a local middle school for gifted youth. The officer shot him for allegedly stealing a car. Brown was not armed.
