We Want A Reading Period

We, law students of Loyola University Chicago, School of Law, set forth this petition for the purposes of expressing our want and request for the establishment of a regular reading period before each exam period. We recognize that comparable law schools in the area enjoy this advantage and we seek to resolve this disparity. Each reading period should be no less than three (3) consecutive days, to be scheduled for weekdays on which classes are usually conducted (Monday Thursday), during the week prior to the beginning of any scheduled exam period. No classes, make-up classes, review sessions, etc. should be permitted to be scheduled for the duration of this period. The University facilities and resources should remain available to students throughout this period.
