The film revolves around a poor young boy named Green, living in rural Northern Alabama. He wants to grow up and become a special effects make-up artist in Hollywood. He lives in a mobile home with his mother Jenny, brother Jay and his new stepfather Earl. His new stepfather is just as much a monster as those he creates with whatever money he can scrap up. While he is trying to achieve his dream, he meets a girl at the video store, Angevin. Shes everything he wants in a girl and shes a horror film buff. The people at the Holy Calling of the Southern Saints think that Green and his monsters are going to hell. Green hopes that he will be able to show his work off at the Halloween Haunted House that is open every year. He also hopes to use the money he makes at this haunted house to buy a ticket out of town. Will everything work out for Green?
