YOUR SMOKE MY LUNGS.....PUBLIC SMOKING SHOULD BE BANNED

It was a historic decision; Supreme Court of India had cognized smoking in public as a criminal offence. Anti Tobacco lobby rejoiced, Supreme Court had come to rescue of innocent lungs. I for one, though apprehensive, was extremely happy & gratified. However, today almost 4 years down the line my apprehensions have well & truly come true. Nothing at all has changed on ground, smokers continue to insouciantly puff out smoke into innocent lungs. I bet most of you would have yourself faced this nuisance several times & would have felt like teaching them a lesson.
So, the question arises,
Can nothing be done against this menace?
Are we going to continue inhaling tobacco due their callous attitude?
Are we ready to suffer forever for no mistake of ours?
The answer should be a BIG NO; everyones got to fight back. I on my part had written to Chief Justice of India & President of India conveying my frustration over official apathy despite SC orders. However, the very fact that nothing could be done despite SC orders reveals that it is not an official problem, but a social one. It has to be fought by masses & youth have got to take the lead. Only a concerted effort by each & every thoughtful Indian can rid us of this smoke. The people who smoke in public got to realize that even though they have got every right to torture their own body; they by no means should expose everyone around them to this torture. Smoking if at all has to be a private affair. Our society deprecates consuming alcohol in public, But we should realize that smoking in public is many times more harmful than drinking.
All this has got to change & we are going to change it. We will have to fight ourselves for this cause. We got to rid rail, road, & air of this curse. I hereby call upon you to join hands to fight for this cause. Lets make this small effort into a mass movement.
According to me all of us should urge Newspapers like Tribune or Times of India to prop up this effort by initiating a public debate on this issue in their columns.
Please come forward, it has to be done, for you & for us.
PS: I urge everyone who shares my concern, to forward this appeal to as many contacts as possible on net. I would really appreciate some words of encouragement.
