2005-2006 Square-Enix PAL releases

Does anybody remember back when the PS2 was about to be released, a Squaresoft RPG called Chrono Cross was also released for the original Sony Playstation? If you live in a PAL territory (ie. Europe, Australia), you've probably never played it, because despite it receiving excellent reviews, it was never given a PAL conversion. The reason for this was that Squaresoft did not believe it would sell with the newer, flashier PS2 and its' games also being out on sale.

Although there is an online petition already out calling a PAL release of this game, most would say that it is a lost cause, since the newer generation of consoles have been out for some time. This petition is voicing the concerns of people in PAL territories who are worried over whether Square-Enix PS2 titles released at the end of the PS2's life will be released or not.

Since the PS3 is (at the time of writing) being scheduled to release in early 2006, titles that may not see release in PAL versions include Final Fantasy XII, Samurai Legend Musashi, Fullmetal Alchemist, Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII, Front Mission Online, Kingdom Hearts 2, Radiata Stories, Romancing SaGa: Minstrel SaGa. All these have US release dates in 2005, and are likely to be released in late 2005 to 2006 if given a PAL release (PAL releases can't be made until the NTSC versions are localised).
