"As concerned family members and loved ones of those incarcerated at Pelican Bay Security Housing Unit (SHU), we feel they deserve to be treated fairly and humanely, regardless of CDCs scheme to continually generate money by not paroling them, or sentencing them to indeterminate SHU terms. The CDC Title 15 details the amount of SHU time that can be served, based on the actual crime. However, if CDC believes an inmate might have the potential to possibly influence another inmate, or if they happen to be seen together, then they could be sentenced to SHU indeterminately, just by association. This is unjust, unconstitutional and illegal."
