A Petition Against Censorship in Music

There is most certainly music that I wouldnt let my children listen to, but does this mean that this music should be illegal for children? Should musicians be censored and not allowed to make their music due to the lyrics and content it contains? I think to respond yes to the questions above would be to say that we should selectively pick and choose who and what is allowed to exercise the freedoms of speech and expression that make this nation truly great. Bans and restrictions on certain lyrics in music restrict the rights of Americans. Censorship often censors, bans, suppresses, or alters music against the wishes of its creators and intended audience. Furthermore, Parental Advisory stickers prevent and dissuade some people from buying CDs bearing them, lessening the profit of the musical artist.
The Undersigned suggest that bans on music be lifted. There should no longer be any age limits on music sold in stores, unless it is with the permission of the artist(s), since they are the creators of the music, they should have the say. The Undersigned also recommend good parenting and guidance for children instead of restrictions for everyone, parents should be able, and responsible, to make sure their children arent listening to any music which they would find inappropriate. Nothing should restrict the constitutional rights of Americans.
