We the undersigned congratulate the Australian Government on their 1995 pledge to contribute $100 million for integrated mine action programmes, including the care and rehabilitation of landmine survivors, education and mine clearance. As the Senate knows, this contribution expires in 2005.
Sadly, there is still much work to be done and we urge the Australian Government to renew its commitment to mine action by pledging another $150 million over the next ten years
