Add Marriage Rights To Civil Unions

The opposition to gay marriage complains that the term marriage belongs to only a man and a woman. All the gays are looking for is equal rights. So, why don't we allow them those rights? Every single right and 'perk' that is given to married couples should be given to homosexual couples in their civil unions. If this is done, both sides of the argument can be satisfied and equal. This is America, where all people are supposed to be treated fairly. Obviously there are people that want to retain the original meaning of the word marriage, so it's time for a compromise.
With the new president soon to be Barack Obama, America has made a large jump forward in their fight against inequality, but we still have a large issue at hand, one that must be resolved before America can move on and tackle the next issue to arise.
So I beg you, propose a bill that allows gays to have every single legal right and perk that goes along with marriage, in their civil unions.
Stop the inequality. Stop the hate. Stop the division in America.
