Ever since the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror attraction opened at the Disney MGM Studios in Orlando, Florida, there has been a powerful detail in the theming of the mysterious Hotel. In the Hotel lobby there is a directory, which, on first notice, is just that. But when you look closer, you will notice something. Letters have fallen off of the words and formed this phrase at the bottom of the directory: "EVIL TOWER U R DOOMED". This immediately become a hit within the Disney fanbase, and many people come to Tower to look for the minor details like this - riders and non-riders alike. Minor details that show just how much Disney cares about the theming in attractions.
But on January 7th, a bellhop who works at the attraction delivered disturbing news to a Tower of Terror fansite and forum - The phrase was gone, along with some sheet music in the attraction's libraries! And it its place was another phrase: "Never the same fear twice", which is the current "motto" of the attraction.
It is dumbfounding, quite frankly, as to why anyone would replace something that has been in the attraction for 11 years, 5 months, and 10 days. And to replace it with the current sequence name! Needless to say, all of us who heard the news were shocked, appalled, and above all, disappointed.
So please, Disney Imagineers, hear us out. Please replace EVIL TOWER U R DOOMED. Show us that you still care about the little details in theming.
