We the fans of the greatest Rugby League team of all time are totally against the abolishment of the original and only South Sydney Rabbitohs battle and victory hymn "Glory Glory to South Sydney".
This hymn has been apart of our club for decades, and is the most popular club anthem of any club in the world of Rugby League.
The new "song" that our players run out to, quite frankly is not good enough, and does not stir the emotions of the fans nor the players. We totally understand and appreciate the need to keep our major sponsor happy, hence the "real thing" tune, but it is not South Sydney, and it is not good enough.
We the fans of this great club have no qualms with this being played when we score a try, and repeatedly at half time, but when the players run out at the beggining, for the second half and as well as going off the field when we win, Glory Glory to South Sydney must be played.
We the fans of this great club appreciate the evolution the club is going through, and we thank Russell Crowe for all his efforts, especially with this song. But there are a few things that need not be touched, and one of those things is our battle hymn.
We the undersigned plead with you to return our anthem, as we are approaching a new era, it will not be the same without that famous old tune!
