You've been making music- I'm going by a broad definition of "music"- for a very long time now. We've stood by and watched through Hit Me Baby One More Time, Sometimes, From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart, Oops! I Did It Again, and ...whatever else you did. But this "Lucky" thing is taking it too far.
I submit here a sample of the offending lyrics:
"She's so lucky, she's a star
But she cry, cry, cries in her lonely heart
Thinking, if there's nothing missing in my life
Then why do these tears come at night?"
Okay, it's all right to prance around dressed like a schoolgirl and act hopelessly in love, but to act like you hate show-biz is against everything you've ever done. Remember: You're not Britney Spears, the girl who feels sadness: you're *Britney* *Spears*, Girl of Silicone, who dances like a limp-wristed chihuahua and does that little head-tilt thing.
You're our object of ridicule. How can we make fun of you while you sit on TV and cry?! Don't hang up the tube top yet. You know crap music is what you were born to do.
