The California penal code section 12125, et seq. Specifically section 12133 of the Unsafe Handgun Statutory Provisions should be amended/ratified to provide an exemption for single shot pistols which have an overall length measured parallel to the barrel of at least ten (10) inches when the handle, frame or receiver, and barrel are assembled; provided that the pistol has only one barrel and one firing chamber, and is only capable of holding (containing) one cartridge (bullet) in the pistol at a time.
Given that such an amendment to the California Penal code would show good-will on the part of that state of California and show the sportsmen of California that that the state if California is on their side, and that we are trying to fight crime together, and not restrict the rights of the law abiding California sportsmen which make a significant contribution to Californias economy.
Given that such a ratification revision of the droplist exemptions would not be interpreted as an act to ease restrictions on illicit firearms and/or support gang/criminal activity.

The purpose of this petition is you get your support for the ratification of the California Penal code section 12125, et seq. that would add an exemption to section 12133 of the California Penal code for the single shot pistols, as described here:

Single-shot pistols, are commonly used within the hunting community and have just as much intrinsic historic value as the "Single-action revolvers" that are currently exempt from the Unsafe Handgun Statutory Provisions (a.k.a. CA drop test).

Additional Information and definitions:
Single shot pistols:
Single shot pistols have existed since the early years of firearms; they work by having a single firing chamber integrated into the barrel. These types of firearms can only hold a single cartridge (or bullet) at a time are used mostly for taking anything from small to large game animal. A single-shot pistol requires the user to insert an unfired cartridge into the breech (or barrel) of the pistol, close the action, and, pull the hammer back by hand before each shot. See Picture below:
Single action revolver:
A single action revolver works by having several firing chambers arranged in a circle in a cylindrical block that are brought into alignment with the firing mechanism and barrel one at a time. A single action revolver requires the hammer to be pulled back by hand before each shot. Most commonly, such guns have a five- or six-shot capacity. See Picture below:

Please help support this proposed amendment of the California Penal Code section 12125, et seq. (Specifically section 12133) to provide an exemption for Single-Shot pistols from the Unsafe Handgun Statutory Provisions; much like the current exemption for single action revolvers.
