We, civil society actors, humanrights activists, condemn with the strongest possible terms the arrest of Mustapha Ould Sidi Mouloud Salma by the Polisario.
We believe that there is a high risk that Mustapha Ould Sidi Mouloud Salma suffer torture or other ill-treatment. Indeed, in recent years, refugees in Tindouf were tortured and subjected to other ill-treatment by the Polisario attended by the Algerian secret services.
Mr Mustapha Ould Sidi Mouloud Salma was arrested for taking a stand in favor of the plan of autonomy in the Sahara. This is a flagrant violation of freedom of expression and freedom of opinion.
We demand the immediate release of Mr Mustapha Ould Sidi Mouloud Salma, and urge the international community to put pressure on the Polisario and Algeria for his immediate release.
