Canadian Hockey Captain Controversy

We, the people of Canada, recognise and declare the current controversy and debate over the choice of captain for the Canadian team to be outrageous and absurd. This is no more than a waste of time and money on a subject where the person in question was cleared of allegations made against him, and that the politicians of the nation are deliberately stalling progress and governance over an issue pettier than the CBCs annual budget and programming, eclipsing important issues such as global warming, parliamentary and judicial reform, the Afghanistan mission, and the Stanley Cup playoffs. And even if the person in question had said what was alleged to have been said, it shows how disgustingly intolerant and disturbing parliament is toward the freedom of speech and opinion.





Further, as a remedy, we call upon parliament to simply shut up on this issue and move on, to stop acting like hypersensitive, sheltered brats and to act their age, to apologise to both Canadians and the person in question for putting him through this unnecessary ordeal, and to expand the laws of the land that increase the right to speak freely, including the abolition of laws of sedition, obscenity, blaspheme and hate speech.
