Consistent Child Support Payments Would Benefit Everyone

Children need their child support money paid consistently!
When the non-custodial parent does not pay his/her obligated child support, it is not in the best interest of the children because of two reasons. First of all is the obvious reason.....their food, clothing, and shelter. No matter how much the custodial parent's income is, when the money from the other parent stops, there becomes a financial problem. The custodial parent might have set up the house payment when that child support WAS coming in and when the non-custodial parent quit paying, the house payment suddenly became harder to pay. The kids have to have clothes and food, so the custodial lets a bill or two slide in order to get the material things the children are in need of and eventually the house is lost. No shelter for the kids.
Then there is the un-noticed reason,
"resentment", not only by the custodial parent who is raising the children the best he/she can without help from the non-custodial, but by the children themselves. They have to deal with the pressure of suddenly not getting those clothes like every one else in school wears, or not joining their favorite sport. They have to deal with the custodial parent saying that they can have these things when the child support starts coming in again, or the custodial parent can work night AND day in order to make up for it. Either way it goes, the children are feeling the resentment due to their other parent not paying the child support.
Something could be done if you sign this petition for child support payments to be paid by the Department of Health and Human Resources no matter what the income of the custodial parent and spouse. When the non-custodial parent can not pay the child support, for whatever the reason, the child would not be put into these stressful situations and everyone would get along much better. The non-custodial parent would then owe the State, instead of the children, and the children can be at peace with both parents.
