It is illegal in many countries to "Jaywalk" but that is currently not the case in the UK. On 26 March 2012 we lost our precious son Michael Croft because a woman chose to cross a busy two lane road and failed to see my son on his motorbike. The evasive action he took to try and avoid her saved her life but not his. If she had made the choice to walk 50 yards to use the pelican crossing our son would still be with us today.
To try and make something positive come from this tragedy we are, with the help of our MP Gary Streeter raising this within the House of Commons to try to make "Jaywalking" illegal in the UK. It will not help us in our grief that we will live with for the rest of our lives, but hope it will prevent other families suffering as we are
We hope to raise 100,000 signatures on this petition and hope you will help us in this endeavour.
