To the University Police Department of California State University, Monterey Bay,
Parking Lot 18 on the CSU Monterey Bay campus should be fully opened to overnight parking. The current situation often results in students from Dorm Buildings 210 and 211 being forced to park far away in other, sometimes unlighted parking lots. This can be a nuisance at best, but many students also consider it a safety risk to have to walk the length of a city length of a city block through an unlit area that sees little, if any, foot traffic just to get their dorm from their car and vice versa. As concerned students and faculty, it is our belief that the best way to eliminate this risk is to eliminate the need to park in other lots by opening the entirety of Lot 18 to overnight parking.

Isn't that why we pay for parking permits if we live on campus? Why should we have to park in non or semi-lit areas, when we can park in parking lot 18?

i have paid more in tickets in a week than what I payed to get the parking permit. what is the purpose of the parking permit, when it doesnt keep me from getting tickets at the school in which I paid to use it for?
