PLEASE defeat HF 611! As concerned citizens and especially as young people who have recently been through sex ed, we can attest that this bill will NOT be more effective. We need to encourage respect of sex and its beauty, instead of degrading it to only the physical aspect. Please help us to keep Iowa's family values intact and protect us as youth. The bill, being led by Planned Parenthood, defines and mandates Kindergarten through 12th grade their definitions of what will be taught in public and private schools. The changes would affect Health and Human Growth and Development.
HF 611, by Planned Parenthood, is a very aggressive bill that adds so-called Research-Based and Age Appropriate definitions. These new definitions would affect what the schools would or would not be able to use for materials. These new definitions would eliminate Abstinence Only Education.

I agree with the motives behind defeating this petition. Sex is more than just simply a physical act. It is an emotion that no one can fully describe. It is one of the most intimate expressions a couple can give to each other.
