Dish Network Blackout Policy

We the undersigned, through this letter, demand that you reevaluate your technology, policies, and procedures in regards to Major League Baseball game "blackouts". In addition, you should be working with Major League Baseball and all of the Regional Sports Networks, to serve your customers appropriately in the area(s) they reside.
Fans of baseball are being denied the right to watch their local teams by some policy that is not even being applied correctly. A simple check on MLB.com of any town's Zip Code, tells you what baseball teams games you are ENTITLED to watch. Yet so many fans are being blacked out of them, and then told its not Dish Networks decision.
However, fans that live in the same Zip Code but use a Cable TV Provider, are receiving the games. Something is clearly wrong with this system.
Please note that while this is specifically directed to Dish Network, the petition is also going to be forwarded to the following organizations:
- Major League Baseball (Corporate)
- Major League Baseball (Individual Teams)
- DirecTV
- All Major Cable TV Providers
- The Federal Communications Commission
- The U.S. House Subcommittee on Telecommunications and the Internet
Either some providers are breaking Major League Baseball policy, or the blackout system data is horribly wrong and outdated. (In the past, this has happened when youve added or changed Zip Codes in your system).
However, that is no excuse.
The end result is that fans like us lose out on something our PAID subscriptions entitle us to watch.
