Driver support for Lexmark products under Linux

We are the customers of Lexmark who use Linux as operating system. We will no longer endure Lexmark's poor driver support for Linux. The signers of this petition will no longer purchase Lexmark products until Lexmark make drivers for the following products:

1. all All-in-One printers
2. all inkjet/laser printers
3. all scanners


Hewlett-Packard is here already a step further: The most devices of HP works with Linux "out of the box". HP places the drivers also under the GNU General Public License, why the HP drivers are from the outset contained in the large Mainstream-Distributions such as SuSE or Mandriva Linux.

In the event that Lexmark cannot handle the programming of these drivers, we require that the driver specifications open sourced to the Linux-Community so that drivers can be made. This would include all schematics and technical information pertaining to the printers and scanners produced by Lexmark.

Again until we see these changes, the signers of this petition cannot support you by purchasing any more of your products.
