Express support for litigation to enforce "Rule of Law"

We wish to secure for ourselves a Pakistan where rule of law is supreme and no private individuals incite the public to take any matter into their own hands and murder those they believe to be in violation of moral codes. If an action is punishable under the ambit of law, then due process must be allowed to take its course in penalizing the said action, and the public not be incited to act like a militia.

We, the undersigned, hereby wish to start litigation proceedings against the people committing the offence of abetment and incitement to violence under Chapter V [where the instigator gets punished for the offense committed because of the incitement] .

We believe that unless legal precedents are set in motion which penalize offenders under the said law, such public incitements to murder will continue unabated.

We believe that all public figures, be they religious, media or political figures, carry with them a responsibility to act ethically and abide by the laws of the country. To influence others to commit crimes like murder under whatever authority is a grave criminal offense that is punishable under the laws of Pakistan. We wish to enforce that law and set a precedent for everyone.
We stand for a safer, more secure, and more law abiding Pakistan.
