Ron Turner is a large part of that, he is the offensive coordinator in charge of game planning, offensive coaching and offensive execution come game day. His underling coaching staff, including a friend from Illinois as line coach and the QB coach by the way of his brother Norv - are equally inept as an offensive coaching staff in preparation of the teams players each week as well.
Bears literature raves on about his presence and contributions, yet it has been dominant defensive teams in the past that has led to the Bears success. With the Bears defensive unit having a 'down' year, the inadequacy of the offense is truly exposed for all to see. That responsibility falls squarely on Mr. Turner's shoulders. Prior to his recent tenure with the Chicago Bears, his poor play selection and predictable offensive game planning was apparent at Illinois too. Turner relies on the existing talents of players to carry out his pathetic ideals, and when the talent level isn't capable of that, his absence of creative mind to compensate makes itself very apparent.
In the most recent game against the Minnesota Vikings, in front of a nationally televised audience, his play calling embarrassed an NFL icon, setting offensive game planning back 20 years. In a game where a short field and gift turnovers from the other team were plentiful, his play calling continually led to ineffective and stalled drives. This game is the essence of his presence and a typical example of his own merit.
This HAS to stop - Chicago Bears fans everywhere need to be concerned - another season with still more young players coming in, will translate to further disaster on the field for this once proud and great football club.
If you are a fan of the Bears - call for the termination of Ron Turner as the offensive coordinator of the Bears now!
