Canada like many European countries is at the point where a FLAT TAX system would bring long lasting benefits to taxpayers and their children. The system has been totally corrupted causing double and triple taxation in the form of taxes, fees, user charges, medical deductibles ad infinitum. Four levels of government all into our pockets. Public sector salaries and pensions beyond any taxpayers imagination. Thousands of accountants and lawyers that could be productively helping entrepreneurs build businesses are squandered on a system that is out of control. No party or politician is able to stop this scam through piecemeal reform. We need a major change. The Flat Tax would give Ottawa the sole authority to expand the present value added tax at a rate that covers all government expenditures at all levels of government. Your gross pay would be your net pay. Ottawa would dole out the funds directly or through municipal, regional or provincial governments.
Tax system "slaves" in the public and private sector would be freed to contribute substantially to the Gross Domestic Product of Canada. Taxpayers would see the real cost of government- will the rate be 20%, 40%, 70% or 95%?
