Hammer and Sickle are not illegal!

The EU-parliamentarians Vytautas Landsbergis and Joszef Szajer have preformed a proposal for making the use of the communist symbol a hammer and a sickle illegal. This petition is a reaction against this proposal for a lot of reasons.
Democracy means, power to the people. No one can deny that communist theory is about real democracy. In the democracy of today only the rich have power, and they are even getting richer while the poor are getting poorer. Communist theory opposes this and wants all the power to the working people. That is our view on democracy.
Off course big mistakes have been made in the past, and even today. In most communist regimes there wasnt democracy at all. And we understand the opposition of many people against the mistakes in the past.
But communism, and the hammer and sickle, is more then only these mistakes. 76 \% of former DDR (East-German) population thinks that Communism is a beautiful theory that has been wrongly carried out. In Cuba lots of people still support the socialist system that has brought them jobs, free education, free healthcare and cheap housings. In Nepal the communist rebels get lots of support from the masses in their battle against the ruling dictator. In South-America the left, socialist and communists get lots of support and win the elections. In Europe communist parties are growing again, especially in the former communist-ruled Eastern Bloc and Soviet Union. So let democracy win, and let people have the right to believe in a right accomplishment of that beautiful dream, let the people have the right to believe and fight for a better world!
Its very unlikely the EU will accept the proposal of Landsbergis and Szajer but action must be taken against this proposal, which is an attack on freedom of speech and the right to believe in a better world.
