Help our troubled youth

The problem at hand- That Cairns has an ever more increasing population of juveniles that have disengaged from their families & Cairns community. We have a large number of juveniles repeatedly going through our Youth Justice System with little or no improvement.The system is failing our youths. In most cases Juvenile Detention is not the answer with the majority suffering underlying issues that need to be addressed as a matter of urgency. The resolution- We therefore request that Alternative methods are created in order to re-engage and rehabilitate our local youths back into the Cairns community and their families. The ideal option would be to further fund an organisation such as ‘Team Wild’ to facilitate such programs intentionally designed to reconnect with disengaged youths. Team Wild proposes to introduce 2 such programs geared at two specific ages groups. Team Wild needs start up funding in order to become self sufficient.
