Honor the Shawnee State University 2010 Graduating Class with a Proper Graduation Ceremony

Despite more than a week's advanced notice of approaching poor weather, this year's originally scheduled ceremony was brought to an unnecessary early close. A lack of preparedness by those administrative officials in charge of planning the event led to an inability to deal with the rain: rain which the crowd of hundreds was entirely committed to enduring. Indoor campus venues were available and would have provided sufficient accommodations for the students and their families but were not utilized because of what could only be poor planning.
At present, the Shawnee State administration is seeking to rectify this matter in the form of a small reception event. While their attempt at rectifying this matter is recognized, it is far from sufficient and is little more than a slap in the face. A reception would be nothing more than a practical method of damage control: the administration's way of cheaply sweeping their failures under the rug.
The only way for the administration to make this right is to give the SSU Class of 2010 the graduation ceremony to which they are entitled. Anything less will be a direct offense to the 2010 class and leave a stain on the reputation of Shawnee State University.
