I SUPPORT LGBT YOUTH IN THE WEST VILLAGE AND ON THE PIER

As a resident and/or business owner in the West Village, I support the presence of LGBT youth who come to the neighborhood because there are few safe spaces for them to be themselves in New York City. I believe LGBT youth are an important part of the West Village community, therefore, I am in support of ending the 1am curfew at the Christopher Street Pier (Pier 45). I support the work of FIERCE and the solutions to overcrowding and noise on Christopher Street that they are proposing because they dont rely on pushing LGBT youth out of the West Village. I agree with their proposal to extend the curfew to 4am and I highly encourage Community Board 2 and the Hudson River Park Trust to support and implement this proposal by April 06. I am also strongly opposed to any proposals that include an earlier curfew or that push LGBT youth off of Pier 45 and out of the West Village.
