How, you may ask?
Answer us this.
How long have you had your badge?
'A few months, at least,' You think to yourself.
How much have you helped?
'An awful lot, thanks. I'm in Naia almost every day.'
Do Green Stripes give you calls off the queue?
'All the time.' You think proudly. 'It's a good way to get noticed and bumped up a colour.'
Back up a step.
What would you do if I told you that Greens were no longer able to do this?
'Wait. Hold on. What? There's rarely, if ever, greens in Naia. How the hell am I supposed to be noticed for helping?'
Unless there are Greens in Naia, the help Blue helpers give doesn't even exist. Which brings up a startling similarity to an old phrase. See if you can recognize it.
'If a Blue helps a Furre in Naia, but theres no Green around to hear it... have they really helped at all?'
Think about it. If being bumped up a colour means that youve helped a lot and have been NOTICED for your help, how is this new rule of theirs, no Greens whispering queue names to Blues, going to help you at all? They have over 400 Blue Stripe helpers, over a third of which never even touch their badge. This rule is basically saying "Since you are a lower rank, we are going to keep you there." The Helpers need to either up the rank of a few dozen of their Blues, or stop accepting applications.
What they really need to do, is realize how pointless and completely non-advantageous this rule is. It's a great example of injustice. We as Blue Stripe helpers, VOLUNTEERS, have a right to gain as much experience as we can to achieve our goals. Our goal being to help as much as we can. How much help can we give if we are not allowed to help the people that the Greens can't? Say there are 90 or so calls on the queue. And no other Greens they know of. What are they going to do? Despair and fret and completely lose it and end up resigning, is our best guess.
Your volunteer career as Beekin Helpers is being put in severe jeopardy. We are asking you to sign this if you have any disagreement at all with this rule. Your support and comments are greatly, GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.
