We are a Young Carers group catering for Young Carers and adults based in North Somerset, and we invite people to protest against a further 30% reduction in funding, having already had money slashed by 10% previously.
North Somerset Crossroad Carers provide a variety of vital services and support, to local carers of all ages ranging from respite care for parents of babies with a serious disability, to families who provide palliative care at home to a family member who is nearing the end of their life.
These services are the lifeline for so many carers and without these, their lives would be so much harder.
If the funding is not cut then we can continue receiving fantastic support from the staff and volunteers at Crossroads Care North Somerset, and carry on going on trips out (Sometimes this is the only time Carers go out of the house) and residential’s, where we can meet others like ourselves.
Carers also receive advice guidance and information, from advocacy workers, school support and newsletters which all together make us feel human again!
Some services may be cut if the reductions go ahead, so we would like everybody to join us in signing our petition and hope that the council will consider cutting the funding.
Thank you,
For and on behalf of Weston and Clevedon Young Carers.
