Justice for 27 Animals Rescued from Abuse and Neglect

For two years an entire equestrian community watched in horror as the animals at Paula Nichols declined in health. She claims to have rescued them in worse condition; however, during this time the Thurston County authorities warned her that even she wasnt taking proper care of the animals. On December 1, 2005, 27 severely neglected, starved, and lame animals were confiscated. Three others had been taken from her property two days earlier. So far two of the horses have died despite valiant attempts by two veterinarians to save them. She was charged in Thurston County District Court with 16 counts of second-degree animal cruelty, a misdemeanor.
Paula has petitioned the court to have all animals returned to her. We knew years ago that she did not know anything about horses. We just never knoew she was so dangerous. Please do not let her have any of her animals back. She takes no advice and does not want help.
