On Sunday April 2nd 2005 I was terribly inconveinenced when my 2005 Ninja ZX6R which I bought a month and a half ago developed a fatal engine knock which required a rebuild of the engine under warranty. I have owned several other Kawasaki motorcycles, and have also guided numerous other people to the Kawasaki dealership in their journey of purchasing a new motorcycle. I feel that as a sign of confidence that the repairs made on my motorcycle will last the duration of the time I will own this product, I should be compensated with a free 3 year extended warranty to gaurentee against any workmanship defects from these repairs that might surface in the future. However Kawasaki doesnt feel the same way, they are telling me if it is going to fail it will be a month or two after I get it back. They also told me they can only extend my warranty by the amount of time it is in the shop under repair. Please let them know that fellow Kawasaki owners are concerned that they are not willing to stand behind their product and dealer workmanship by giving me an extended warranty. I am not asking for a handout here, my brand new engine with 3300 miles on it is being rebuilt and I just want assurance it is not going to fail as a result of this repair 2 years down the road.
