Why are we allowing a serial rapist to move into our city? If New Westminster Police say that Paul Callow is believed to represent a high risk to the community, especially women and parole board officials concluded that he poses a high risk to reoffend sexually or with violence, then he obviously does not belong in public. This is a man who refused to participate in a violent offenders program and who kept hash oil and drug paraphernalia in prison. Why is he being let out? Sure, there are restrictions, but I doubt that a curfew is much of a deterrent to someone who brutally raped women at knifepoint. I was under the impression that the purpose of prisons was to protect the public from threats like Callow, but the only person being protected is him. Why should it matter that there was no dangerous offender law at the time of Callow's conviction? Those laws were put in place for a very good reason, so if they cant keep be applied here, then our justice system has failed. Callow was kicked out of Surrey, because citizens protested; did they send him here because they assumed a small city would just take it? Mayor Wright should stand up for our rights like Surrey Mayor Diane Watts. I propose that we take action here as well. Flyers should be distributed to raise awareness. Only, lets not just bounce Callow around the province that doesnt help anyone we should put him back in prison where he belongs!
