We are asking concerned citizens working and living on the south side of Waterloo to sign a petition in support of bringing back one centrally located mail box that maintains a 5:00 pm or later pick up time. Recent changes in postal service pick up/ delivery have created challenges in utilizing the United States Postal Service for mailing and shipping of business packages.
Changes made to date include:
-The removal of a bank of mail boxes in front of 3346 Kimball Avenue.
-The mailboxes in front of 3130 Kimball Avenue have changed pick up time from 5:00 pm to 2:15 pm.
-The last pick up time at the substation at 3834 Kimball Avenue is 2:30 pm.
The typical business day does not end at 2:30, and this time constraint has created huge inconveniences for businesses operating on the south side of Waterloo. As a result, businesses are utilizing alternate methods for their mailing/ shipping such as UPS and Fed Ex. Thank you for your support in bringing back a business friendly mailbox.
