Franklin County Residents' request for a free and public Leash Free area to be incorporated into our Washington Public Park System.

This is a gathering of signatures from citizens of Franklin County showing interest in a safe place for the pets and pet owners of our community to come together socially. It is the purpose of this petition to express the need for our forward-thinking community leaders to take steps toward creating a fenced area specifically designated to socializing dogs. In the knowledge that well-socialized dogs are "safer" dogs, this project would be a worthwhile use of city time and resources. All of the signatures are validated by gathering mandetory information from those that sign. The information is not shown on the petition or used to contact or target those that sign. Duplicate signatures are also not permitted.

95. David D | We should pay $20 per year per family. The proceeds should be used to purchase fencing, a water source, and biodegradable dog "pick up" bags. Any leftover revenue should go to Franklin County Humane Society.

87. Kristin H | I think the soccer field closest to the Parks building could be utilized as a dog park- there are plenty of soccer fields already! This could cut down on costs and/or tree clearing. And it's already mostly fenced in!
