LOUD EXHAUSTS and BOOM BOXES

There is an increasing number of vehicles patrolling our public roads with illegal modified exhaust systems and/or Boom Boxes. As stated by the Ministry of Transport these systems are illegal and there are laws in place to deal with this situation. So why is it that the law abiding 'silent majority' have to suffer this intrusion caused by a minority of self gratifying, disrespectful illegal motorist. Having written to my MP, The Minisrty of Transport and the police the answer is probably that they don't have to or if you live in an 'Ivory Tower' it is not a problem. However it is the case that there are many many more fines for 'dropping a cigarette end' than driving an illegally modified car. The aim of this pettition is to raise the awareness of this situation. To get the Ministry of Transport and the Chief's of Police to issue directives enforce the law.
