Missouri Adoption of "Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act".

This petition is to encourage State officials to examine and consider in the adoption of the Senate Bill 1070 of the State of Arizona also known as the "Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act". The provisions of this act are intended to work together to discourage and deter the unlawful entry and presence of aliens and economic activity by persons unlawfully present in the United States. Highlighted points of the bill are stated as follows: "FOR ANY LAWFUL CONTACT MADE BY A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL OR A LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY OF THIS STATE OR A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL OR A LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY OF A COUNTY, CITY, TOWN OR OTHER POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THIS STATE WHERE REASONABLE SUSPICION EXISTS THAT THE PERSON IS AN ALIEN WHO IS UNLAWFULLY PRESENT IN THE UNITED STATES, A REASONABLE ATTEMPT SHALL BE MADE, WHEN PRACTICABLE TO DETERMINE THE IMMIGRATION STATUS OF THE PERSON,EXCE[T OF THE DETERMINATION MAY HINDER OR OBSTRUCT AN INVESTIGATION.
