Although we don't think about these things until they happen to us. Last year, we made a family decision to have our Mom placed in a Nursing Home in the Timmins Area. On June 30 - the day when the Ambulance came to transport here to Timmins to place her in a Nursing Home was one of the hardest days of my life. When she left, it was like as if she had passed away. It was that difficut.
Thankfully my job pays me well enought, that I was able to promise my Mom that I will e able to make monthly trips to see her. I have been.
But how many of you have this option? Would it be more convenient if your aging parents, older siblings and relatives were nearby?
Perhaps we can do something about this by urging the CEO, and WAHA Board Members to make this one of their priorites. Believe me, our loved ones are not getting any younger.
It is time we take action now.
