In this petition, I am calling for 2K Sports/Sega to take seriously the consumers that have purchased this game and would like to play it as advertised. The main areas of concern are Online Crew Mode, Online Team-up Mode, Online Leagues and My Player Mode. All of these primary game play modes have numerous issues that nearly make them unplayable for a lot of consumers.
Biggest issues:
Online server issues Servers (in all modes) are extremely laggy (riddled with latency issues) and thats if you can even get the game started. Most of the time (about 70\% in my experience) you cannot connect to a Crew Match, it freezes or some or all players are kicked from the game. It is impossible (in my experience) to play a 10 player Custom Team-up Match (never have been able to connect and play a single one). Mic support is terrible. Most of the time, if there are mics on (which is supposed to be a supported feature), you have almost no chance that the game will actually launch. Other games support well more online players and dont have nearly the number or severity of server issues. FIFA 10 is 10 versus 10 online game and there is rarely a server issue with either connecting to a game or with latency.
My Player Mode Not only did people buy the full NBA 2K10 release, they also purchased the mini game NBA 2K10: Draft Combine and worked on building up their created players for weeks, only to fine that they couldnt play with them online either in My Player Pick-Up or in Crew Games. The my player pick-up mode is now accessible with the patch, but there are still latency issues, problems with player stats not tracking, wins/loses not registering correctly, animation, player control issues and still minor connection problems. But crew games are still hit or miss (mostly miss) connection wise.
I would like the developers/producers to:
1. Make more of an effort to recognize these concerns and issues
2. Keep consumers better updated on what is being worked on and when it will be fixed
3. Established a bug/issue tracking system where consumers can submit and track the progress of the problems they encounter
4. Make server and online game play issues THE priority
5. Offer a method of installing the patches for people that do not have internet access but have still purchased the game same as people with internet access.
6. Offer a very early beta for the next version of the game, assuming anyone still has interest in buying it.
OR, offer full refunds to anyone who wants it.
I am a QA engineer by trade with 10+ years of experience with major software companies and I can tell you that this is THE worst software release I have ever seen. I cant even begin to believe that it was competently tested and found to be release ready. There are at least (in my professional opinion) 10 SHOW STOPPER bugs that I have found myself in regular game play.
Please show your support for this petition so that we can insure that these kinds of software releases dont become industry standard. And remember this is not about video games; its about getting what you pay for.
