NO TO CVS!

We stronly urge the Rancho Palos Verdes city council to DISAPPROVE and VOTE NO on the CVS Pharmacy plans for the corner of Granvia Altamira & Hawthorne Boulevard.

The building will not be set back as is the current Valero building and be built nearly to the corner of the sidewalk

The building is planned to be some 16-20 feet high thus making traffic visuals more hazardous to those driving north on Hawthorne or east on Granvia Altamira

They will sell liquor and the "pharmacy" per the admission of the CVS contractor, is not even a full service pharmacy, in other words, it is just another convenience store.

We already have 5 pharmacies on this side of RPV; 4 of which carry the same merchandise as what is planned for the CVS

Were you aware that the family selling the site to CVS has made significant contributions to two of the city council members. Cleary, this is a conflict of interest.

Drive by the new CVS construction taking place at the corner of Torrance Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway in Redondo Beach. Look at the gross, crass and vulgar looking behemoth at that intersection. Is this what you want for your city? Rite-Aid, Longs, Ralphs & Pavillions serve us well already. The new 7-11 (set back significantly from the corner of PVDW & Hawthorne by the way) serve well for convenience as does the existing 7-11 at the corner of Granvia Altamira & Hawthorne.

We urge you to sign this petition and make it known to the city council that we citizens strongly disapprove of the CVS project.
