Northern Virginians Against Illegal Immigration

We the undersigned are concerned citizens and legal residents of the Northern Virginia region who are opposed to President Bushs guest worker plan, which will grant immunity to millions of illegal migrants.

The Northern Virginia region has been especially impacted by illegal immigration, particularly that emerging from Mexico and Central America. This migration has resulted in a plague of gang violence in Northern Virginia that threatens the safety and well-being of the community. President Bushs immunity plan will further erode the security of this region.

Law enforcement and first responder personnel are feeling the strain of increasing demands, due to the heightened terrorist threat the region faces. Illegal immigration has only added to the drain on limited resources as much of the rise in crime in region is directly contributed to Latino gangs. This criminal scourge has not only diverted resources and time from countering the terrorist threat, but has actually contributed to the efforts of the terrorists, as links between Latino gangs and terrorist groups are established.

Therefore, we the undersigned call on the Virginia delegation to the US Congress to fight President Bush on his amnesty initiative. We will not reward those who jeopardize the safety and well-being of our families and communities. We will, however, remember those who stood by the citizens and legal residents of this area to combat an ill-contrived plan that benefits only those who use illegal, cheap labor at the expense of the legal workers in this country.
