Mr. Faure Essozimna Kodzo GNASSINGBЙ,
I am writing to you as a concerned citizen echoing the voices of the millions of Togolese people who see no legitimacy of your rule, forcibly, imposed on them since the year 2005. Also, I am addressing you as a citizen who cherishes justice, liberty and democracy: principles which are foreign to the system of governance you enshrined since your party, the Rally of the Togolese People, robbed us of our sovereignty. It is high time you faced these same people whose dreams of freedom, -sometimes weakened, and often tested- never died out. It is high time you faced your fellow-citizens whose dearest aspirations are simply freedom and justice.
For the sake of justice, liberty and democracy, I entreat thee to prepare to vacate the premises of the presidency of the Republic of Togo within the next 60 days. Yes, Mr. Gnassingbй, considering the fact that you have no legitimacy and, that no credible electoral process mandated you to speak for and in the name of our nation, it is clear that you have no right to remain more than a day on the state-owned properties of the republic. Besides, you have no right to wear a title that no one bestowed on you. For us, the Togolese people, your reign, soaked in blood on the onset, hinged on crime and legitimized by violence, has ended as of this day of February 26th, 2011.
Within 60 days, on April 27th, we, the Togolese people, sole artisans of our wellbeing and of our nations future, will be celebrating the dawn of a new day on the homeland of our forbearers. Your departure is not an option but a requirement. We are not asking for your resignation; rather we are serving you with a dismissal letter. Seize this opportunity to quietly leave to thus spare the Togolese people more suffering and tribulations. Seize thy chance, because neither violence, neither lies, nor corruption can break the resolve of a people on the move.
We cherish peace and justice and we are resolutely engaged to preserve the lives of our fellow-citizens and to avoid any fratricidal confrontations. Should you resort to your business as usual of exploiting any perceived divergence among the people to anchor your injustice, be forewarned that the Togolese people are united more than ever to face down your dictatorial rule.
You are summoned to promptly hand over the keys of the presidency of the republic and to withdraw your team from managing of our nations businesses. Sovereignty belongs to the people and the people alone. Sovereignty is neither yours, nor your partys property. Therefore, we, the sovereign people of Togo, entreat you to depart now. You will be the sole bearer of any consequences due to any act of stubbornness. The wind of freedom is blowing. We are making it known to you, out of love that, that wind is blowing in your direction. You and your cronies must vacate the premises of the public buildings of the republic at the latest on April 26th, 2011, at 23:59 GMT, to thus open the way for the total independence of Togo, our beloved country.
Your total cooperation with our demands will be your major contribution for the advent of the government of the people, by the people and for the people in this homeland of our forbearers.
Long live the sovereign Togolese people!
Long live Togo!
