Operation Iraqi Freedom Medal

The many brave men and women that sacrificed much to defend our country and help others in need deserve proper recognition. The U.S. government had decided to award these heros a "Global War On Terrorism" medal. However, in addition to this they should also receive an "Operation Iraqi Freedom" medal. The military members who did not get deployed will also be receiving the GWOT medal, making no distiction between those who gave up 6+ months of their lives and those who stayed home. The only thing you had to do is receive the GWOT medal is be in the military! I believe our heros deserve the extra recognition for the sacrafices they have made, just like those who gave during WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnem, & the Gulf War. Our war veterans today are not any less worthy than those of the past, they deserve an Operation Iraqi Freedom Medal. PLEASE if you feel the same as I do (and many of the men and women who had to face war!), sign the petition and let the government know those who gave deserve to be recognized for their contributions.
