The Bloomfield Hills School Board and four cellular phone companies are proposing to construct a 155 foot (15 & 1/2 story) cellphone tower and armored equipment bunker adjacent to the tennis courts at West Hills Middle School in West Bloomfield, MI. The purpose of their construction proposal is to improve cellular phone coverage for Franklin area residents - outside of West Bloomfield Township itself.
Township ordinances state that cellco towers (CT) are to be constructed
within the existing CT zones. West Hills Middle School is not a CT zone.
Rather; it is nestled among a large community of single-family homes.
