People against Bill O'Reilly's Hateful Views

I am writing to you on behalf of many people of different ethnicities, nationalities, and beliefs who are discontented with your companys sponsorship of Bill OReillys talk show, The OReilly Factor. We are appalled by the hateful, biased views represented by Mr. OReilly. He has made attacks on numerous groups, here are just few examples:

Will African-Americans break away from the pack thinking and reject immorality-- because that's the reason the family's breaking apart--alcohol, drugs, infidelity. You have to reject that, and it doesn't seem--and I'm broadly speaking here, but a lot of African-Americans won't reject it" (Feb. 25, 1999)

"We'd save lives because Mexican wetbacks, whatever you want to call them, the coyotes--they're not going to do what they're doing now, all right, so people aren't going to die in the desert." (Feb. 6, 2003)

I don't have any respect by and large for the Iraqi people at all. I have no respect for them. I think that they're a prehistoric group (June 17, 2004 on the broadcast of the Radio Factor with Bill OReilly)

During an interview for Stuff magazine (November 2002), O'Reilly opined that "the most unattractive women in the world are probably in the Muslim countries." O'Reilly later insisted (New York Daily News, 10/10/02), "There was no malice intended. It was just in jest."

Not only are his views offensive, but theyre also irresponsible. Does your company represent irresponsibility and hostility towards African Americans, Muslims, Mexicans and several other groups? We would like to think not. We urge you to cease sponsoring his program.

In this petition are signatures of those who I speak on behalf; they are people who detest intolerance and detest those who support it. We need your assistance to stop the hateful propaganda that is widespread in the media. However, if you continue to sponsor the show, we will be forced to call for a boycott of your products
