People who use wheelchairs are being denied their rights to get on buses

Despite the introduction of the Disability Discrimination Act and all London buses made to be wheelchair accessible, bus drivers frequently continue to deny entry to passengers who use wheelchairs due to insufficient space. The designated wheelchair space on buses are continually blocked with buggies and drivers are not willing to ask them to fold up pushchairs and instead find it easier to decline entry to the wheelchair user.
I urge all London bus companies to enforce Disability Discrimination Act, provide training to drivers on disabilitiy issues, monitor that people with disabilities are not excluded and take action when this occurs.
