The Sisters of Charity were involved in the systematic abuse , torture and slavery of women and children in Ireland and have no place running nor sitting on the Board of Directors for the National Maternity Hospital.

We propose that the hospital be nationalised and secularised to reflect the diverse society of modern Ireland.

Chairman Dr Peter Boylan of the Institute of Obstetricians stated in a recent Irish Times article that “Catholic-controlled hospitals around the world forbid the provision of modern contraceptive services, IVF, sterilisation operations and gender reassignment surgery”, and also expressed concern about the implementation of the Protection of Life in Pregnancy Act.

Remove the Catholic Church from our institutions as it has continuously failed us.
