We, the undersigned are concerned citizens of Calgary who are asking our elected officials (Mayor Nenshi and all Aldermen) to uphold our bylaws regarding camping in parks with equal vigor as that the City displays when enforcing all other bylaws, such as parking and waste disposal. A small group of people have been camping in Olympic Plaza illegally, causing damage to our park and displacing legitimate users of Olympic Plaza.
We support the Charter of Rights and the Constitution of Canada. "Occupy Calgary" protestors may assemble and express their concerns daily. Having them abide by the laws imposed upon all Calgarians does not threaten or violate the Charter rights of this group.
Please enforce our bylaws as you were elected to do, so that the citizens of Calgary may again fully enjoy our parkspace as it was designed to be used and before it becomes damaged further from improper use.
