Petition against 4 storey shop top housing proposed for the Croydon Park Ex-Services Club, Seymour Street, Croydon Park. Burwood Council is proposing this under the draft Burwood Local Environmental Plan 2012. They Mayor & Councillors vote on this in April/May 2012
Objectives:
The petition will be used to support Croydon Park residents’ submissions against 4 storey zoning, being sent to Burwood Council. The petition may also be referenced during a speech to the Mayor and Councillors at a Burwood Council meeting (date to be confirmed) during which they vote on the Local Environmental Plan (and hopefully vote for to change the height limit on this rezoning). This meeting is expected to take place in April or May 2012.
We hope to convince Burwood Mayor Faker & Burwood Councillors to amend the zoning for Croydon Park Ex-Services Club so that it includes a 2 storey height limit.
This Petition will help demonstrate to Council how strongly the community objects to 4 storey zoning and potential redevelopment of the Club’s land which will allow unwanted 4 storey buildings in a low density residential area with 2 storey height limits. Any potential 4 storey redevelopment of the land will mean overshadowing, privacy and noise issues for nearby residents, but will significantly impact traffic flows, on-street parking in neighbouring streets.
