Plea to Stop the Dock at White Bay Jost Van Dyke

Dear Dr. Smith:
We, the undersigned, are all people who have a great love for your beautiful homeland. While we greatly respect your peoples needs and interest in economic growth we feel we are part of that economy. Untold thousands have visited White Bay Jost Van Dyke and fallen in love with that beautiful, pristine location. Those visits have resulted in many return trips not only to White Bay but to all the islands of the BVI. Having learned that a dock is being planned for White Bay has horrified a great many people. A dock at White Bay would greatly damage her beauty. Not just visually but environmentally. White Bay, in recent years, has had a great increase in day visitors. It's beautifully clear water is not as clear as it was several years ago. The increased traffic brought by a dock will cause the water to further deteriorate. We respectfully ask that you and your government not approve a dock in this beautiful place. We ask that you leave us this "Nature's Little Secret."

I spend all year waiting to camp at Ivan's Stress Free Campground. We would have to search again for a quiet place to enjoy if a dock was put in . Please don't ruin a beautiful place. The people that visit White Bay now would not want to come back.

I won't visit the island anymore if Cruise ships go there and I will be very sad if I can't visit Ivan once a year. This island is perfect the way it is.
